MOSS LOGISTICS´ NEW LOGISTICS CENTRE BUILT IN HUSTOPEČE

“Demand for logistic services and warehousing is generally very big and our existing warehouses lack capacity. We see business potential in this direction and, therefore, we decided to construct the new logistics centre,” Petr Šťastný, MOSS logistics CEO, says. In the modern warehouse premises in the size of two football playgrounds, the Company will be offering comprehensive logistic services including transport, warehousing, handling, release and dispatch of the goods. „Thank God the construction has not been delayed due to complications arising from the coronavirus spread. We only had to introduce stricter hygienic and safety measures,” Šťastný notes.

CURRENT CUSTOMERS AND NEW CLIENTS AS WELL

The new hall can house the goods of MOSS logistics´ current customers in the field of domestic appliances and white goods including the e-shop with homeware and automotive. The current customers will be joined by new clients from the automotive industry and other manufacturing fields. The new hall will add to the volume of warehouse area used by MOSS logistics by more than one third. The current 25,500m² of area will be increased by another 10,500m².

THE PLACE WILL BE GREEN

This modern one-hectare hall complies with all the safety rules; it is equipped with Jungheinrich rack system and handling technology including inductively guided forklifts, sprinkler fire protection and energy-saving zone lighting. „In the project, we considered the sensitive integration in the landscape as well – various shades of grey have been used for the warehouse sheathing which go in waves and optically break the large surface of the building,” Šťastný adds. Hundreds of trees and more than a thousand of bushes in the overall value exceeding CZK 1.5 million will help the premises to merge into their green surroundings.  Retention basin has been designed to catch stormwater from large areas.

MORE MOSS EMPLOYEES

MOSS logistics will hire more employees, mainly the warehousemen, to work in the new hall. “Firstly, some of our employees working in our existing warehouses will move there. Right now, we will hire only a few new people with the hiring to be organized in steps,” Karolína Kudělková, MOSS logistics HR Director, specifies.

The project preparation took more than four years with the construction itself lasting one year. The price and deadline agreed were fulfilled. The structure with costs exceeding CZK 250 million has been funded by Česká spořitelna with involvement of the European Investment Bank, as well. The general contractor was Hustopeče company Buildsteel. The Investor used its best efforts to involve local firms in the construction. The equipment of the administrative part was provided for by Czech brands, for instance TON, Bomma and Rako. The general designer of the logistics centre was Ateliér Zlámal; technical supervision was provided by Investinženýring.
